The Florida Inter-University Center for Child, Family and Community Studies brings together faculty from public and private universities across Florida to provide cutting edge research in service of children and families.
The MISSION of the IUC is to develop and support family and community effectiveness in meeting the needs of children and families at all stages of development. through research, education, policy and service activities
The principal objectives of the Center are:
- To conduct research designed to advance scientific knowledge of forces influencing the capacity of families to create healthy environments for child and family development;
- To use research-based information to guide and inform state and national policy designed to impact child and family well-being, and to critically evaluate the outcomes of current and proposed policies on children and families;
- To design and deliver educational programs that empower families and communities to foster the optimal development of children and families.
