The Family Policy and Research Program seeks to optimize the quality of programs offered to families. Associates of the program work with state and regional agencies to design and carryout evaluation plans.

Mission

To develop and implement strategies that improve the quality and effectiveness of family service programs.

Major areas of Focus

  • Early literacy. For example, the program collaborated with the Leon-Gadsden Early Learning Coalition to evaluate the effectiveness of an early literacy program funded through the Early Learning Opportunity Act.
  • Family Impact Seminar. A current project conducted in collaboration with the Florida Inter University Center for Child, Family, and Community Studies is the Family Impact Seminar series. This series is designed to provide research-based information to policy makers and other decision makers about issues effecting families.
