Master's of Science degree in FCS provides in depth understanding of children and families. The goal is to provide students with professional preparation for stimulating careers in education, government, cooperative extension, and private industry. Two types of master's programs are available: thesis or course option. The thesis master's degree provides a strong foundation for doctoral study. Students must complete the requirements for the degree within 3 years.
The program requires a minimum of 30 semester hours including 6 hours of thesis credit. Three courses may be taken at the 4000 level with departmental permission.
The course option requires a minimum of 33 semester hours including 3 hours of a special project. Three courses, or 9 semester hours, may be taken at the 4000 level with departmental permission.
