Research Associate/Director of Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD)

POSITION: Research Associate in Dietetics within the department of Nutrition, Food and Exercise Sciences in the College of Human Sciences at The Florida State University. This is a nine-month, non-tenure-track position with possible summer employment.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have at least a master’s degree in dietetics or nutrition or related field, be a registered dietitian (RD) and have at least three years of professional experience post-credentialing. Experience with administration and academic advising is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will teach courses in dietetics and nutrition at primarily the undergraduate level, direct a DPD program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE), and participate in service to the University and the community.

THE DEPARTMENT: There are 15 faculty members, 110 graduate students, and 1475 undergraduate majors, including 313 dietetics majors. The department offers undergraduate degrees in food and nutrition, exercise science, and athletic training; there are two majors under the degree of food and nutrition—dietetics and food and nutrition science. At the graduate level there is a master’s degree in nutrition and food science, with emphases in sports nutrition, clinical nutrition, nutritional science, nutrition education/wellness, and food science, a master’s degree in exercise science, a Ph.D. in Human Sciences with specialization in human nutrition or food science, and a PhD in exercise science. THE COLLEGE OF HUMAN SCIENCES, which began in 1905, is the flagship program in human sciences in Florida and has as its mission to address global challenges and opportunities related to the physical, behavioral, and economic factors influencing the health and development of individuals, families and communities.
