Mission Statement

The goal of the Collegiate Merchandising Association is to promote the Florida State University Merchandising program and to provide its students with information and skills needed to facilitate their professional development most of all to have fun while achieving these goals.

About Us

CMA helps students prepare for a successful transition into a career in retailing through presentations, activities, and guest speakers. CMA provides students invaluable information about the world that awaits upon graduation. Networking is consistently emphasized with everything the association does, in turn providing more open doors to our members. Our members are additionally involved in many community service programs throughout Tallahassee and FSU.

Our motto is: "Giving our members a helping hand toward tomorrow!"

Events

Intern Brunch

The Intern Brunch is a farewell event for the merchandising students in their intern block before they leave FSU. CMA proudly recognizes their hard working interns and congradulates them with an array of delicious food, gifts, and entertainment. Each year we pick a theme we think will be enjoyable for the interns. CMA awards two interns with scholarships.

Student Summit

CMA supports the center for retail merchandising and product development in preparing for the merchandising conference. The Conference promotes mutually beneficial, educational research and service partnerships between Florida State University and large and small organizations in these fields.

Each Spring CMA participates in a Stylist Showcase. This year we are privileged enough to be able to hold our Showcase at Relay for Life. The Stylist Showcase is a fashion show in which our members get to show off the styling techniques. Some of the items featured in our fashion show will also be student designed, which will add a great twist to the showcase this year! Make sure to check out our show on April 4, 2008 at Mike Long Track – some of the items featured will be up for auction!
