RMPD Student Organizations

Students in RMPD are active in learning and in applying that learning.

Collegiate Merchandising Association (CMA)

The Collegiate Merchandising Association (CMA) addresses the interests of students related to retailing careers and issues. CMA’s approximately 250 members sponsor campus receptions and presentations for retail firms who are conducting interviews. CMA also sponsors field trips and speakers and gives a scholarship each semester to a senior member. Each semester CMA publishes its own fashion magazine, Clutch.

Fashion Inc.

Fashion Inc. addresses the interests of students related to current fashion trends and design in RMPD. A major function of the organization is the Annual Fashion Show which is produced each spring. Fashion Inc. also has the opportunity to assist with the fashion promotion activities of local firms.

American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorist Student Chapter (AATCC)

The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists FSU chapter addresses the interests of students related to textile product development and quality assurance. It is affiliated with the national organization and members attend national and regional conferences when possible. The student organization provides opportunities for field trips to production and testing facilities.

Black Retail Action Group (BRAGfsu)

The Florida State Chapter of Black Retail Action Group (BRAGfsu) was founded in order to create, endorse, and encourage collegiate participation in the retail sector.  We aim to educate college students who are interested in fashion, to expand their interest in this dynamic field.  As a chapter of the national organization Black Retail Action Group, USA, BRAGfsu serves as a liaison between college students in the Tallahassee area and encourages the participation of minority students in retail and its related industries.
