The Florida State University, Department of Nutrition, Food and Exercise Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The starting salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is available August 2013.
Responsibilities:
- Establish a competitive extramurally funded research program in food science and technology with an emphasis on food safety and quality.
- Collaborate with food science faculty to augment a unique program of excellence in food immunochemistry. Excellent opportunities exist for collaboration with other researchers.
- Develop and teach courses and mentor students in food science at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Participate in professional service activities in the department/college /university.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in food science or related field with demonstrated expertise in food safety and quality. Expectations of the applicant will include a record of scholarly activity as evidenced by publications and grants, and experience in teaching and research. Experience in successful grant writing, postdoctoral training, and immunochemistry research is preferred.
