The Florida State University, Department of Nutrition, Food and Exercise Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The starting salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is available August 2013.

Responsibilities:

1. Establish a competitive extramurally funded research program in food science and technology with an emphasis on food safety and quality.
2. Collaborate with food science faculty to augment a unique program of excellence in food immunochemistry. Excellent opportunities exist for collaboration with other researchers.
3. Develop and teach courses and mentor students in food science at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
4. Participate in professional service activities in the department/college /university.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in food science or related field with demonstrated expertise in food safety and quality. Expectations of the applicant will include a record of scholarly activity as evidenced by publications and grants, and experience in teaching and research. Experience in successful grant writing, postdoctoral training, and immunochemistry research is preferred.
