The Center for Retail, Merchandising and Product Development, known as The Retail Center, was created in 2006. The Center is part of Florida State University’s Department of Retail, Merchandising and Product Development (RMPD) within the College of Human Sciences (CHS).
The Retail Center creates partnerships between retail and retail-related businesses and FSU students and faculty. We strive to educate and shape the future retail and product development leaders by creating strong partnerships committed to bridging the academic and business communities to build student professionalism needed for career success.
Every spring The Retail Center sponsors The Retail Summit. The Summit encompasses an intense and informative half day conference which educates students on career opportunities and the ever-changing trends in their chosen retail fields. This year’s theme is “Retail….Millennials Matter” with a focus on technology trends that includes careers associated with the advancement of technology. Our keynote speaker is Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute; she has been called “the international color guru!"
200-250 students and over 15 companies are expected to attend. Registration is open until January 20th.
